Who are the Wandering Men?

The Wandering Men is a group of writers and adventurers who seek to not only write great fiction, but also enter the world and explore the remote places, the high peaks, and the lost cities within. By climbing those peaks, wading the mud, swimming the salt-marshes, and sitting about a fire days away from civilization, the Wandering Men have gained the experiences that add reality to our stories. We know what it feels like to be wet and cold trudging up a mist-enshrouded mountain, and so can describe that in our stories.

Is there a leader?

No..and yes. The Wandering Men work together as a group and make decisions accordingly. However, as we take on a project, a member tends to take the reigns and guides the group through that project. In this way, we can handle several projects at once, with each member spearheading a specific job.

What do you do?

We collaborate on fiction projects designed around a client's needs. We also explore the world. We will take on adventure projects freelance as well. Have pack, will travel.

What makes you different than the rest?

The Wandering Men have experienced much of which we write about. We can empathetically write about trials a series of characters endure. In addition, we have a broad realm of experience and research which gives fully three dimensional writing. Will the ship be correct? Will swords operate as they really would? Are the races reflecting appropriate characteristics? With the Wandering Men, they will.

What titles have you done?

Presently, the Wandering Men has written Skein of Shadows which is to be published by Dark Quest Games this fall. Within this novel are the novellas Vendetta, Fiend Fighter, Seaborn Sentinel, The Bonds that Bind Us, and Tenet's Tale. A sequel to Skein is in the works, as well as other projects with Dark Quest and other publishers (to be announced when permitted). In addition, the Wandering Men are working on an article about Fort Saint Philip, built by the Spanish in the 18th century and to be featured in North South Trader in 2008.

What future work will you do?

Several group projects are in the pipe and will appear within the next year. Even so, we are able to take on any size projects, from full-length novels to short story anthologies. What ever the client needs.

What services do you offer?

The Wandering Men provide a complete package for any customer. We can provide fully-edited fiction as well as first quality art and graphics to fill any need.

How do you take on jobs?

Clients contact us with a proposal. The Wandering Men then review the project and whether or not it fits in with the scope of our services as well as whether or not it is up to our standards.

Who can join?

At the present, the Wandering Men is a closed group. However, we do open our adventures to folks who are up to the challenge. On our last journey, which took us dodging ocean-going freighters in small kayaks across the Mississippi River to bush-whack through heavy brush to explore Spanish ruins, we were joined by several hearty explorers who are not members of "The Wandering Men" but who are close and dear friends. Who knows what happens after that?

What's the connection between Dark Quest Games and the Wandering Men?

Basically, there's no connection other than the fact that Dark Quest Games (DQG) is the publisher for our first collaborative novel, Skein of Shadows. We're working very closely with the publisher in the marketing and publicity, departments, however which is likely the cause for the confusion. Skein of Shadows (the novel) is based on a Campaign Setting called Crown that is also being published by DQG.
