Heya gang - just wanted to make a spot for all your cool character builds! We've had them scattered all across the boards, but since we're growing so quickly, I was afraid they would get lost in the shuffle. So, if you've got an awesome, cool, unusual, or just a favorite Untold Character build, post it here and let the world marvel! ;)
This guy RAWKS!!! Lovin' the story and character concept. I enjoyed the Oceanic flair you gave the Issant and totally introduced me to Heather's wonderful creation with several twists of your own. And I don't mind a good story swap for character color (or life preserver, given the circumstances ;), so the Body of Air was cool, especially with Multi-Action 2--a fitting power for a many-legged and energetic bloke from the lively (now erupted) city of Under-Down-Under. :)
And speaking of erupted, I'm thinking that should be included into the epilogue of the Awakening and prologue of another adventure... *Evil GM grin*
Thanks - I had a blast playing him and can't wait to do so again! :) Maybe this weekend @ CrisisCon?
Dude, if I get that second adventure seed written (in notes, at least ;), then that'll be awesome! Or just thrown into another adventure, too. :D
I built this guy for Ashy's PBP, the basic concept coming together in a handful of minutes. The first stroke is pure combat, intended to be a tactical counterpart to a tank:

Mountain's Blessing
Inescapable Blades 2
Piercing Claws
Quick Response 2
Phase Into Earth
Awareness 3
Stealthy 3
Hunter's Hearing
Hot Swaps:
Strafe
Push
Trip
Disarm
Grapple
Note: I play between using In. Blades 2 and swapping the difference to P. Claws 2 (you subtract the hanging point from your swap buffer), which is a nasty offset between unstoppable damage and irreducible damage.
Background: See his Hebdomadal Persona
An alternate, more fitting to HP, I came up with within 2 minutes as I mentally flicked through the cards:
QRC:
Character Name: Beta Three or Brother
Total UP: 70
Character Deck: 68
Swap Buffer: 2
Total VIT: 8
Body ATK: 9
Body DEF: 9
Body Boost: 9
Mind ATK: 4
Mind DEF: 4
Mind Boost: 4
Soul ATK: --
Soul DEF: --

Character Deck:
Sand Sniper (Race Card)
Body 8
Mind 4
Mountain's Blessing
Inescapable Blades 2
Piercing Claws
Quick Response
Phase Into Earth
Awareness 2
Eidetic Memory
Stealthy 3
Hunter's Hearing
Hot Swaps:
Strafe
Push
Trip
Disarm
Grapple
Note: I like this one more, personally, because it reflects his history and gives him more alternatives and balance. And his 2 UP swap buffer still offers the Strafe plus technique combo (though not as forceful with a lower boost).
Here is something that is highly malleable, as I'm using an interpretation of three cards (BMCC, Reinforced Klik Plating, and NAU Light Combat Armor) to generate different concepts.
First Concept: Infused Radical Offensive Negotiator Manned Exo-atmospheric Enforcer (aka, "I.R.O.N. M.E.N.")
An impressive combination of Klik and Hibred technology, these manned suits allow a person to become a versatile and powerful presence on the battle field.
These suits, while not necessarily fully integrated into the subjects body, usually require a certain amount of mechanical augmentation in the person to truly interact as a amplifier to the wearer's abilities. Each suit has its own designated functions and capabilities, constructed to tackle obstacles and operations particular to its kind.
Examples:
Subject 001, Joules Verne
Alias: "Volt"
Race Card: Hibred
Soul: 7
Body: 7
Mind: 2
NAU Light Combat Armor
Reinforced Klik Plating
BMCC
Arc Coils
Enigma Engine
Electric Arc Eyes
Ranged Specialist
Leaping
Storms Blessing 2
Strong 2
Ranged Specialist
Hot Swaps:
Electrocute
Electric Body
W312d Energy Ray
Spatial Distortion
Temporal Disjunction
Joules Verne is the first of the I.R.O.N. M.E.N. initiative and its real impetus. A frontline soldier-scientist prodigy in the N.A.U., Joules suffered an inevitably fatal wound when an explosion embedded countless slivers of flux shards into his abdomen, burrowing slowly toward his heart. The base medical staff did an experimental surgery utilizing the Klik on staff to craft a static flux magnet to keep the fragments from continuing their deadly course. Once he had recovered from the ordeal, the clever Verne sought new applications for his life-saving device. He worked with the Klik on his own experiment that led the way to the I.R.O.N. M.E.N. initiative, though at first his own personal pursuit of meaning with his second life. As the founder and leader of the growing unit, Volt perfects and diversifies these cutting edge weapon suits for the expanding battles that face the people of Apoc earth.
The other renderings of the basic set of Power Cards are to come. :)

Suit Description:
Standing at 2.75 meters, the humanoid metallic suit appears both sleek and strong. A burnt orange covers most of the torso and the head around the face, while a gold accents the visor, inside arms and back of the legs. A charcoal black underlies the plating, connecting the heavy fused armor together. Orange-blue, sometimes gold, energy seems to emanate across the suit from time to time, warning of the weird energy the wearer harnesses for their purpose. You know you have stumbled upon another bold new face of the war-riddled Apoc Earth.
The other renderings of the basic set of Power Cards are to come. :)

That is SOOOOCOOOOLLLL.... :D
We should have a contest! Build your favorite super hero with existing cards!
You need to do a complete write-up for him!!! :D
Yes, that'd be super-cool! :D Large/Huge, Strong 4, Body 12, green pigment and anger issues ring a bell?
I'll see what I can whip up. :)
I actually made a Doll at the BBG that I was going to test out (the game ended early so I didn't manage it) but I wrote down the build. Sadly I can't find the QRC that I had it all down on... I really need that iPhone app for QRCs.
Anyways, it was a simple build. Give me a sec and I can construct it again.

So, what say you folks? Want a contest like this?
Does it just have to be super-heroes or can we do super villains too?
I don't care! :P
A contest like that would be awesome!
Suggestions for a prize?
There's always the traditional UP. But what would the criteria for winning be in the first place?
I'd say submit creations by a certain date.
Community votes for the winner.
;)
Simple!
Works for me. I'd say each person gets three submissions?
You could have a prize for first place, and UP consolidation prizes for 2nd and third. Obviously if the top three submissions were from the same guy, only the highest of them would be considered with the next winner going down to the next submitter.
Have the due date be Halloween, expand it to making a character from popular fiction (comics, movies, etc - instead of just super heroes) using Untold Cards, and call it the First Annual Untold Costume Contest.
I like!!!!
Also, I thought about the prize... What if the winner gets their character drawn and becomes a card! :D The winner could get a print of the character and everything! :D
THAT. STINKIN. RAWKS!
Ohhhhhh....how did I miss this thing?!?!?!?
I've got a great idea!!!!Well...a few actually...
Does this sound like something we wanna do?
There won't be any copyright issues I hope...
Yea, that's the one rub. We'd have to make the cards and the art fairly "different but inspired" by the originals... :P
Crafted this as an alternative for Ben's game. Posting him here as an example/inspiration for crafting steampunk undead NPCs and characters.
Salazaar Djinn
"Reformed" Wretch
Salazaar had been a run-of-the-mill wretch, haunting the deserts near Tel Aviv, where he savored the kill of fresh livestock and herders. He would have continued his terrible existence as one of many undead threats if the strange vagabond had not crossed his path. The lone pilgrim in the desert seemed a ripe candidate for consumption and the fleet-footed ghoul bore down on him long before the traveler could react. However, in the tussle between the two, the victim began to speak to him, but not the ghoul--the traveler spoke into his dead heart, to the tormented soul trapped inside. Salazaar heard his true name spoken again with memories of his past flickering to life and the sentience he had once uncorrupted tinkered anew with the refreshed sense of humanity long lost. The images vanished, but Salazaar no longer grasped the cloaked churl in his greedy hands. The man continued to speak and weave wonderful tales to the ghoul, promising a means to help him if he would take his offer. The wretch struggled with the decision--his undeath crying for more blood, his soul begging for release. The wretch's will ground through the rusty gears of indecision until he finally accepted. The two winked from existence in a rippling heatwave, never to be seen in these deserts again.
Salazaar Djinn underwent many transformations since this event. The place he next appeared stood as a monument to metal-working majesty, towering lightning rods and seas of oil. The traveler convinced the ghoul to allow the mechanical creatures here to operate on his decaying body, transforming it into an apparatus that let the old Salazaar harness more control. The augmentations awakened dormant areas of his mind and fused the capabilities of the Klik into his very being. Now, the rogue wretch feels more like a fusion of three beings--human, undead and machine--but respects his leader's friendly foresight. Using his cleverness and expanded skills, Salazaar is "Alexander's" go-to guy, an able companion in cons and infiltrations into secure locations. The only oddity in Salazaar's mind is why the man who saved him never shares his real identity, but accepts the mystery of his friend as a condition worth enduring for the new life he leads.
Description: Wearing a starched cotton shirt, leather vest, leather gloves, and heavy overcoat, he has the trappings of an nineteenth century gentleman. Salazaar sports a permanently affixed monocle, while a traditional bowler cap rests upon his head. Only the ghastly scars, opalescent rows of sharp teeth, and discolored skin insinuate his real identity as an undead. Salazaar has a copper cane grafted into his right arm, along with copper coils for buttons and cuff links, which channel the immense electric energy coursing through his torso. He houses a chemical still inside his chest, where he analyzes and procures chemical agents to suit his various needs.
Tactics:
Salazaar bluffs his way into places, utilizing his various languages and acting skills to win over sentient beings. When dealing with machinery and technology, his mechanical nature clicks into place, extracting codes and information from klik and computers alike. If he cannot pick his way into a secure location, Salazaar uses his electro-chemical abilities to override defenses. Finally, when caught in a jam, the rogue wretch will revert to his former ways, dashing out of trouble with a flurry of blazing undeath.

Very cool indeed, Benraven!
Oh, please remove the UP costs on the cards... Thanks!
Done!

This was a spur-of-the moment character I created for one of Benraven's games. UP: 70; total build time: ~3 mins (I was just flipping through my cards pulling out cool stuff and then I created a background from the cards selected...) ;)

Note: I also like to keep Body of Air, which is a Story Swap, handy, to Swap in - if the GM allows such insanity. ;)
Background: Kr'y'kee is a rare form of Issant that prefers heat as opposed to cold. Found beneath the blazing sands and stones of The Dreaming, these Issants possess a ruddy colored carapace and a quick temperament quite unlike their slow, methodical northern cousins. Kr'y'kee is exceptional, even for his kind and is amazingly quick and acts almost completely upon reflex. The quick-talking, quick-witted Australian Issant speaks with a heavy Aussie accent and almost always acts before he thinks, which often gets him into worlds of trouble - literally.
Kr'y'kee is a scout for his people, who live in a massive subterranean Issant city called Under-Down-Under and his job often finds him crossing paths with all sorts of folks from all over the world and the sundered universes. To Kr'y'kee, who is generally likable and friendly, this suits him just fine - he delights in seeing new things, meeting new folks and blasting the dung out of anything that threatens him, his friends or his home. Bristling with golden magical energy, his deep brown, inquisitive eyes often shimmer with it; and his flexible and expressive antenna often sizzle and spark with the latent magical power packed into Kr'y'kee's slender, quick frame.
Let me know what ya think!
