Imagine if all the most interesting parts of the 1800s were slammed together. Early industrialism blends with Gilded Age monopolies. H.G. Wells mixes with Edgar Allen Poe. Tesla, Edison, and Babbage merge with the Pinkertons and colonial politics. All of it maintains an outer facade of Victorian sensibilities, but on any deeper investigation it is as rotten as the worst parts of Jack the Ripper's Whitechapel London. Now take it all, make a civilization out of it, and run that civilization off city-sized power plants that are on the verge of absolute failure.
Steamfunk is everything that might be considered "steampunk," set in a dystopian world that is as much smog as it is steam and as much disease as it is discovery. Kudos to the Steamfunk team.....
Sorry to hear ShadowStalker, it will be worth the wait... way cool. Got mine a few hours ago and on first skim, wow what a great setting. Looking forward to delving in more detail, now just have to resist the temptation to read the Secrets section as I think one of the other GMs in the group is interested in running this.

Just downloaded it! I probably won't get a chance to look it over until the weekend, though.
@ Ashy - I used UP to purchase it. I just thought I'd let you know that I was charged correctly (1265-450=815 left), however when the actual Pay w/ Points box comes up, it was telling me that I had 2855 UP (or some such nonsense) when I was actually at 1265. You might want to have that debugged...

Thanks! Like I said, the correct amount was deducted from my account.
However, it was confusing that when I chose to Pay w/ points, it initially showed me as having far more points than I actually had (that could cause problems, unless you get a bonus when using that option). Once everything was done, it was fine.

Hey guys! Yeah, I've read the GM Secrets section. I'd recommend NOT reading it unless you're fantastic at not metagaming and if you have no qualms with spoiling surprises. Don't worry though. As a player, your experience will be better for having not read it, I can assure you.

Gonna make a book out of it....
OK in anticipation of possibly running and/or reviewing this, I have printed out a copy with nice color cover and maps and am off to have Kinko's to get bound it while I work on Christmas shopping.
I should be talking to my friend tonight, hopefully I'll have a better idea tomorrow about the path forward.
