Though the true origin of the lumilons is a mystery, they have always had a significant place in Crownian society. Legend has it that the lumilons came with the first priests who founded Shaedarsil, and have always been caretakers and spiritual guides for the people. The lumilons are beautiful beyond comprehension, and their beauty seems to pour from their very soul. In truth, they care little for physical beauty, but treasure spiritual prowess.

Lumilons are wise, often preoccupied with deep thoughts. They almost always have a tranquil demeanor, and are very rarely frightened by physical harm. Many find it relaxing to speak to a lumilon, and many lumilons have found their place as spiritual guides and helpers of the weak. The lumilons are gifted healers, and even the weakest lumilon has some healing powers. It is said that some lumilons gain the power to resurrect the dead, and even to create living, breathing beings by pouring part of their own soul into them.

Lumilons resemble humans to a degree, but their skin is milky white, and their hair is almost always light blond or silvery white. Their eyes are big and almond shaped, and have an unearthly depth to them, as if they can see right through to the soul of anyone they look at. Their eye color can be anything from brown to green to purple or silver. It is said that the personality of a lumilon can be seen in their eyes, and as they experience mood swings, those are reflected in them as well. Lumilons have been known to grow very old, and will live to see 300 summers on average.

Lumilon Male Names
Aeralanth, Baelarmorin, Dashal, Jaeranthir, Merafarin, Taelandor, Taelanith.

Lumilon Female Names
Aramilla, Dasharia, Jaerantha, Lurania, Maelari, Shandrella, Taedrellia, Ylweth.

The lumilon traits are as follows:

  • Abilities: -4 Strength, -2 Dexterity, +4 Wisdom, +4 Charisma. Lumilons possess godly beauty and are wiser than most, but seldom resort to violence or manual labor.
  • Medium: As medium creatures, lumilons have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Lumilon base speed is 30 feet.
  • Healing: Even the feeblest lumilon has healing powers. They can heal an amount of damage equal to their level + Wisdom modifier, if positive. A Wisdom penalty does not penalize their healing ability; if their Wisdom modifier is less than 0, they may only heal damage equal to their level. Each use of this ability drains the lumilon of a point of Wisdom, as their mind becomes more and more clouded. Eventually, they pass out when they reach zero. Wisdom lost this way returns at a rate of 1 point per hour.
  • Lumilons receive a +2 racial bonus on the following skills: Concentration, Diplomacy, Heal, and Sense Motive.
  • Healer’s Stone: All lumilons possess what they call a Healer’s Stone. This stone can be charged with healing power as the lumilon spends a point of Wisdom “healing” it. The charges can then be used instead of losing a point of Wisdom. Furthermore, the quality of the stone gives a bonus to the lumilon’s level, from +1 to +5, with respect to their healing ability. The stone may hold a number of charges equal to the lumilon’s level, plus the quality bonus of the stone, if applicable. The power of the stone is based on the Wisdom of the lumilon at character creation, and is equal to her Wis modifier (maximum +5). Even if the lumilon’s Wisdom modifier changes during the game, the power of the stone remains the same. All lumilons are born with one of these mystical stones in their hands; a blessing from their creators. These stones are personal, which means that other lumilons can't use them to power their healing ability. This strong connection also means that if a lumilon loses her stone, she will always be able to sense the general direction towards it.
  • Cultural Knowledge: The following knowledge skills are considered class skills for all lumilons: Arcana, History, Local, and Nature.
  • Racial Feats: Arcane Sight, Cling to Life, and Improved Telepathy.
  • Automatic Language: Crownspeak and Telepathy (See Sidebar: On Telepathy)
  • Bonus Language: Afayim, Atolain, Celestial, Draconic, H’raktha, Oltreggish, or S’leeach.
  • Favored Class: Druid.
