Where'd this sled come from?

I've been having "moments" recently - moments like when you're racing down the hill on a sled with your best stuffed tiger friend, and you realize you're not in control. If you're lucky, you get the time to ask how or why you got into the situation, and you get your self out. If not, you end up in a tree or off a cliff. Comics CAN teach a kid a lot...

My former life, one with a house, a great girlfriend, a dependable 7 - 4 job, used to be stable. I used to be "in control." I am somewhat of a control freak, those who know me can probably attest (I'm trying to get better). Well my life now, eesh!

I'm in an apartment in a new city, no girlfriend, my job fluctuates overtime requirements and locations where I need to go to work, and the machinations of the Wandering Men have taken things to a whole notha' level. I'm on the sled and the trees are whipping past me, but the last thing I distinctly remember was dappled spring sunlight shining through the leaves overhead and the cool rock against my back that I was resting on. Where did this sled come from anyway? Think fast!

I've been forced out of my comfort zone. It has been a catalyst and made me consider my life - luckily I have more time than my childhood comic hero - and I've come to my decision. Yeah, I'm racing on a sled downhill through a forest, but there are reigns. It's about time I got to steering, and seeing how much fun I can have!

What fun would life be if you could predict every turn and ... tree? Maybe you forget the pleasures of riding on a sled in your old age Smile Once you learn that you cannot control every situation, you will be a happier man!
