Set IV of our Men: the Wandering cards is here! BEFORE THE CON, EVEN!!

SET IV is our "Ookan" Series, complete with an awesome "Eastern Flair", with stunning art by none other than Tom Babbey! Check out his website here: http://www.tombabbey.com; Tom is an ol' pal of the Wandering Men and he's always open for commissions! Wink Tom did such an amazing job on the art for these cards that we simply could do nothing other than to fully highlight his stunning work, so as you will see below, we've turned our cards "on their ear"! The Ookan card fronts proudly display the art in a landscape format, so you can enjoy it all!

We hope you can drop by Mobicon this weekend (in Mobile, Alabama) and pick up a few of these awesome Ookan cards - or, if you pick up a copy of Skein of Shadows from the Wandering Men, you just might find some inside your copy of the novel that's been called the "...sleeper hit of the year... "Enjoy and let us know what you think by commenting below, dropping a line in our forums, or tagging us with some of the social bookmarking tags at the bottom of the page!

Stirring Shadows
Written by Brannon

For Omegacon '08, the Wandering Men joined forces with comic artist Chris Fason to create a graphic prequel, if you will, to our novel, Skein of Shadows. Previously, this comic has only been available to those convention goers (and recently to our first friends on our new Wandering Men Facebook account); but now we want to make it free for all!

Image In response to popular demand, the Wandering Men are now making their "Transmog" artwork available for avatars! That's right, now you can grace forums the world over with the wildly popular "Transmog" version of your favorite hero from Skein of Shadows! This artwork appeared on our exclusive Men: the Wandering collectors cards for Chattacon and were a HUGE HIT!

Show the world that you're an "Arastin fan"; that you're an anchor-toting member of the "Gritgut Chaos Club"; or you could even declare to all that you are a true "Fiend Fighter"! Whichever hero is your favorite, snag his (or all) of the artwork below; just a little present from the Wandering Men!

Thanks again to Gabriel Lee for the awesome artwork!

That's right, Wandering Fans - we're going to be GIVING IT AWAY FOR FREE for fans at the convention! Not only that, but Chris Fason (who just happens to be OmegaCon's Art Director!!) will be on hand to sign copies of both Stirring Shadows and all his issues of Hero Happy Hour!

For all those Gritgut fans...

Here's a little treat for all of you Gritgut fans out there. When the Wandering Men were in the very early stages of planning the short stories that would eventually morph into the novel as we know it today, we met at Talladega National Forest in Anniston, Alabama for what we called a "Writer's Retreat". A day full of hiking the steep, dusty trails, swimming in the icy-cold lake, climbing sheer granite cliffs, and exploring little known corners of the wilderness soon had all of our creative juices flowing and our synapses firing like tommy guns in The Untouchables.

As we gathered back into the hotel room (yes, we actually got a hotel room for the Writer's Retreat and NO, we do not normally use hotel rooms on our outings...) and began to talk about Corey's story concept: that of an anchor-wielding oltreggan who would basically cause random chaos and destruction throughout the story, Davis began cackling wildly - almost uncontrollably... Now, for those of you that do not know him personally, this is not Davis' modus operandi - so we all knew that something big was up.
