Davis gave you a taste of why the Wandering Men adventure. Brannon started us on the expedition to Battery Bienvenu in southern Louisiana. Nathan's tale also features a fort in south Louisiana, but the trip to Ft. St. Philip required a kayak trip of a different sort - the Wandering Men would have to cross the Mississippi river where great ocean going cargo ships often travel. Of course they had to get to the river first, and with five guys and gear, five kayaks, and one Jeep, that's half the fun.

Weeks ago, the Wandering Men explored the ruins of Fort St. Philip, an abandoned fort secluded in the swamps of southern Louisiana. Guarded by the mighty Mississippi, giant ocean-going cargo ships, and vampire cattle, the fort had been abandoned and unvisited for decades. However, none of that deterred the Wandering Men.

But how did we find the fort, and why did get crazy idea in our head? Well, Davis tells us of the genesis of fort exploration.
